A case has been registered at MIDC Waluj police station against a truck driver for allegedly driving under the influence of alcohol and endangering public safety. The incident occurred on Friday near Oasis Chowk on the Pune–Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar highway.

According to police, the complaint was lodged by Pandhari Patil (47), police constable attached to the city traffic branch, Waluj. At around 1.20 pm on Friday, the accused, Soma Rabari (30), a resident of Ukheda, Nakatana taluka, Kutch district, Gujarat, was driving his truck (GJ-12 BW-8918) in a rash and negligent manner while allegedly intoxicated. His dangerous driving posed a serious threat to the lives of commuters on the road. A case has been registered against him under relevant sections of the Motor Vehicles Act.
