Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar: The Education Department has extended the last date of registration for the admissions under the ‘Right of Child to Free and Compulsory Education’ up to March 31.

The last date for RTE admission application submission was March 25. The deadline ended on Wednesday, and due to changes in rules and the need for corrections in applications, an extension has been granted for the second time for the registration. Parents can now register their applications until March 31.

Children of economically weaker section parents are given admission to 25% seats reserved in private schools under RTE.

As of March 25, a total of 8,700 schools across the State are eligible under RTE. A total of 2,76,689 applicants had registered for 1,14,785 seats on Wednesday.

A total of 16,404 online applications have been received for 4,911 seats across 541 schools in the district.
