Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar: MLC Satish Chavan raised a special mention in the Legislative Council on Wednesday, demanding the immediate disbursement of pending scholarships for research students of the Chhatrapati Shahu Maharaj Research, Training and Human Development Institute (SARTHI).

SARTHI provides scholarships to students from the Maratha, Kunbi, and Kunbi-Maratha communities across the State for pursuing PhD research. However, research students in the Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar division have not yet received their scholarships for the period January to December 2025.

As a result, the research work of many students has come to a halt, and they are facing difficulties in meeting expenses related to laboratory costs, data collection, study material, and equipment.

MLC Satish Chavan brought to the attention of the House that due to non-payment of scholarships for the past one year, many students have fallen into financial hardship.
