Aurangzeb gave death penalty to Sambhaji Maharaj and he was killed in Pune district and hence it is logical to rename Pune as Sambhajinagar, opined the national president of the People Republican Party, Prof. Jogendra Kawade in a press conference here on Thursday. Congress is our ally party but we will contest all the elections henceforth on our own. We will field candidates at least on 21 seats in the upcoming Aurangabad Municipal Corporation elections, Kawade said.
He was in the city on the occasion of the Nam Vistar Divas on Thursday. Initially, he paid tribute to the statue of Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar at Bhadkal Gate and later went to the Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University (BAMU) Gate.
Briefing the press, Kawade said, his party will initiate a country-wide Atmanirbhar Atyachar Pratikar Campaign from January 26 and we will convey the message to protest against the atrocities and injustice through it. Similarly, a Samvidhan Bachao agitation will also be initiated. The farmers laws are against the farmers, he mentioned.
