Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar: "Even today, one has to face many obstacles to conduct research in various fields in India. Unfortunately, we have not yet been able to instil the scientific outlook that is expected in our society," said Dr Diwakar Kulkarni Mandakhalikar, senior animal scientist

He was speaking at the 12th 'Govind Samman' ceremony organised by Garud Parivar on Saturday. Dr K D Deshmukh honoured Dr Diwakar with an award.

He said that scientists and researchers from around the world are invited with great respect to large laboratories abroad, where a conducive environment for research exists.

“However, this situation is noticeably absent here. I worked as Chief Scientist for 14 years at a renowned research institute in Bhopal, but the number of such institutions in India is extremely limited,” he said. Ravishankar Zingare delivered an audio-visual lecture on "How Does Our Brain Work?"

Shrikant Umrikar delivered the welcome address while the vote of thanks was given by Prachi Shinde. Madhuri Gautam, Namdeo Shinde, Dhananjay Dandavate, Anil Patil, and other dignitaries were present on the occasion.
