Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar:

The additional sessions court judge Sabina A Malik has rejected the pre-arrest bail application submitted by a builder Madhusudan Uttarwar, who has been charged with duping a retired judge Trimbyak Jadhav for Rs 85 lakh.

Jadhav had given his land for development to Uttarwar. However, the builder without taking the consent of the landowner, obtained a loan by mortgaging the land with Yavatmal Bank.

Acting upon the complaint of Jadhav, Begumpura police station has booked Uttarwar under Sections 318 (4), 316 (1) and (2) of Bhartiya Nyay Sanhita.

Hence to evade his arrest Uttarwar filed an anticipatory bail. However, the government pleader Sachin Suryawanshi opposed the application. Adv Sandip Nikam assisted him.
