A surge in robberies has left residents on edge, with criminals targeting morning walkers and commuters. Despite repeated incidents over the past two months, police have failed to curb the crime spree. Just a day before Minister of State for Home Yogesh Kadam’s visit, a government employee was robbed at knifepoint, heightening fear among citizens.

Robbery 1: Government employee attacked

An employee of the Cotton Corporation of India Hemant Puri was out for a morning walk near SRPF Pump when three masked men on a bike intercepted him. The incident came to light on Thursday. One grabbed his collar, another pressed a machete to his stomach, and the third snatched his 5-gram gold ring before speeding away.

Robbery 2: Woman’s mangalsutra stolen

Samadhan Lokhande was helping his mother to board a Buldhana-bound bus around 3 pm at the central bus stand when thieves swiftly unclasped her mani-mangalsutra and disappeared into the crowd.

Robbery 3: Mobile snatched at bus stop

Shrikant Thakre was waiting for his company bus at Wockhardt Chowk on Jalgaon Road recently when a thief slipped a hand into his pocket and snatched his mobile phone before vanishing into the night.

Police have launched investigations into all three cases, but the rising crime has left residents questioning their safety.
