The state government has provided Rs 152 crore for 23 roads in the city. From this fund, Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation (MSRDC) and MIDC will develop 7 roads each and Aurangabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) will develop 9 roads. Except for the roads under the jurisdiction of the AMC, work on other roads has already started. MIDC''s contractors and administration were the first to take the lead in this work. Quality road works are being carried out by the MIDC. Municipal administrator Astik Kumar Pandey and district collector Sunil Chavan also inspected the road works and expressed their satisfaction. MIDC has completed about 80 per cent of the work. The MSRDC and the AMC are lagging far behind in terms of work. MIDC started work on the orders of guardian minister Subhash Desai even before receiving funds from the government. The municipal corporation is currently working on the road from Hotel Amarpreet to Ekta Chowk. The remaining eight roads will be marked and if there are encroachments in some places, they will be removed and work will be started immediately, Kolhe said.
