Uddhav Sena leader and former leader of opposition Ambadas Danve alleged at a press conference that various companies defrauded the government of Rs 10,000 crore by submitting bogus bank guarantees to obtain contracts from Maharashtra State Power Generation Company Limited (MAHAGENCO) under the Chief Minister Solar Agriculture Feeder Scheme launched to provide daytime electricity to farmers by allotting free government land for solar energy generation. These companies failed to start projects within the stipulated time.

When the government moved to seize bank guarantees, five companies' guarantees were found bogus. Despite MAHAGENCO officials being aware of this, contracts were still awarded. Five FIRs have been registered, naming five MAHAGENCO officials. Danve questioned CM Devendra Fadnavis who denied government involvement asking why five MAHAGENCO officials were suspended if no scam occurred, and demanded a thorough investigation. He also stressed the need to appoint a Leader of Opposition in a democracy.
