Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar:

Unidentified thieves stole a bag containing Rs 2.62 lakh in cash from a trader’s car after the vehicle developed a puncture and was stopped at a roadside garage.

The incident occurred on Paithan Road around 8 pm on March 4. The victim, Sachin Bakliwal (44, Sararaj Nagar, Garkheda), runs a paper company in the Vadgaon Kolhati area. After finishing work, he was returning home by car when one of the tyres got punctured. He stopped the vehicle by the roadside and temporarily filled air using a machine. During that time, the car boot remained open. Later, after getting the puncture repaired near Beed Bypass, he reached home and discovered that a bag containing Rs 2.65 lakh in company cash along with important documents and cheques had been stolen. Police sub-inspector Nandkumar Bhandare of Satara police station is investigating the case.
