A case was filed Tuesday against a woman’s husband and in-laws for mental and physical harassment, including a Rs 50 lakh demand from her maternal home in Waluj MIDC.

According to police, complainant Madhuri Shinde, married on April 24, 2016, initially lived in Loni with her in-laws. She gave birth to a son in 2017. Her husband, who ran Mahalaxmi Medical, allegedly started quarreling after business losses and developed a drinking habit. In January 2018, her in-laws blamed her for the losses and demanded Rs 50 lakh. When unmet, she faced continued harassment.
