Aurangabad, Dec 28:

Jewellery amounting Rs 7.50 lakh of a woman passenger travelling from the Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC) bus from Pune to Aurangabad for a marriage ceremony were stolen on December 27 evening. A case has been registered at the Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH). The incident occurred between Ahmednagar and Aurangabad, the woman mentioned in the complaint.

Gayatri Ravindra Kanhekar (Indrapuri Colony, Talegaon Dabhadi, Pune) was coming to attend a marriage ceremony from Pune to Aurangabad on December 27 evening with her two sons. She was carrying two bags containing jewellery and cloths. She went to toilet when the bus stopped at a Dhaba at Ahmednagar. Two women came in the bus at Ahmednagar bus stand. One woman sat near Gayatri and the other woman stood near the seat. Both the women got down at Ghodegaon. When the bus arrived at Aurangabad, she found that one of the bag was felt light. When she checked the bag, she found that the jewellery and cash from the bag amounting Rs 7.5 lakh were missing. She lodged a complaint at the Kranti Chowk police station in this regard on Monday. The case has been handed over to the Ahmednagar police, informed PI Ganpat Darade.
