Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar: The District Planning Committee (DPC) is expected to receive Rs 1,500 crore from the State Government for the upcoming financial year 2026–27. An additional demand of Rs 765 crore was made to the Government. However, the Government has approved a plan of Rs 794 crore, an increase of only Rs 59 crore over last year's plan of Rs 735 crore.

Meanwhile, the first DPC meeting of the new financial year is scheduled to be held on May 15 in the presence of District Guardian Minister Sanjay Shirsat.

In 2025–26, a total of Rs 849 crore had been approved, comprising Rs 735 crore for the District Annual Plan, Rs 104 crore for the Scheduled Caste Sub-Plan, and Rs 10.46 crore for the sub-plan outside tribal areas.

For the year 2026–27, the financial limit for the General District Annual Plan was Rs 526.83 crore.

The departments had actually demanded Rs 2,031.97 crore, and a proposed plan of Rs 1,500 crore was submitted to the Government. The committee approved an additional demand of Rs 765 crore compared to 2025–26, but the Government sanctioned only Rs 59 crore from this. As a result, the planned development works are now set to face a major setback.
