Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar
The Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar (Rural) police celebrated Marathi Rajbhasha Day at 10.30 am at the Superintendent of Police Office, marking the birth anniversary of Jnanpith awardee Kusumagraj.
Superintendent of Police Dr Vinay Kumar Rathod said Marathi represents Maharashtra’s culture, history and identity and must be used effectively and sensitively in policing from registering complaints to investigations to strengthen public trust. Calling its use in administration a duty, he urged officers to preserve its sanctity in official and personal life. Additional SP Annapurna Singh highlighted Marathi’s legacy from saints’ abhangas to modern literature and stressed clear communication with citizens. A ‘Granth Dindi’ featuring Dnyaneshwari, Tukaram Gatha and other noted Marathi works was organised, followed by a collective pledge to promote Marathi in daily functioning. Officers and staff participated in large numbers.
