The unidentified body found on February 18 inside Marathwada Spin Pipe Company, Hamalwada (Railway Station MIDC area) has been confirmed as a murder case. Satara police arrested all four accused on February 27.

The Accused All four are residents near Khandoba Temple, Satara Rishikesh Wakte (25), Rohit Nagarale (19), Chandrakant Markal (21), and Rahul Dutonde (24). The court has remanded them to police custody until Monday.

How it happened

The company had been shut for some time, with security guard Rahul Dutonde posted due to recurring wire thefts. When he spotted the deceased allegedly attempting to steal wires, he called his three associates. The four then allegedly assaulted the man with hard and blunt objects, causing his death confirmed by the final post-mortem report from Government Medical College and Hospital. A murder case was registered on a complaint by assistant police inspector Shailesh Deshmukh.

Identity still unknown

Even ten days after the incident, the deceased's identity remains unestablished. The investigation team led by Senior PI Krishna Shinde continues efforts to identify him.

Breakthrough through security guard's interrogation

The Marathwada Spin Pipe Company had been shut for some time, with security guard Rahul Dutonde posted due to recurring wire thefts. When Dutonde allegedly spotted the deceased attempting to steal wires, he called associates Rishikesh Wakte, Rohit Nagarale and Chandrakant Markal. The four then allegedly assaulted the man severely, leading to his death.
