The administration of the Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University (BAMU) will hold a meeting on Saturday to announce the examination schedule for graduate and postgraduate examinations. The vice-chancellor will chair the meeting.

VC Dr Pramod Yeole, Pro-VC, principals, director of the board of examinations and assessment will also attend the meet. The university examinations were to start from March 15. However, they were postponed due to Covid-19. Raising the issue of safety of students, the state government decided not to conduct the examination. However, the University Grants Commission was adamant on taking the exam. Eventually, all the states were forced to take the exam as per the Supreme Court order. The state government set up a committee under the chairmanship of VC of Mumbai university Dr Suhas Pednekar to find a way to conduct the examinations. The committee had six members, including Dr Yeole. The committee decided to conduct a multiple-choice question (MCQ), as well as online and offline examinations. The examinations were scheduled from October. Meanwhile, the teaching staff of 14 universities in the state went on strike from September 24 for various demands. The strike lasted for eight days. Therefore, all the universities had to postpone the examinations. Finally, the strike ended on Thursday evening. Therefore, a decision will be taken in tomorrow''s meeting to fix the schedule of the exams, sources said. Examinations for undergraduate and postgraduate courses are likely to start from the second week of October.
