Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar

MIDC Waluj Police have seized scrap material and a truck collectively worth Rs 11.90 lakh for transporting goods without valid documents. A case has been registered against the driver.

The action was taken around 2 am on Wednesday during a routine check near AS Club Chowk on Ahilyanagar Road. A Tata truck (MH-06-AQ-9395) was found moving suspiciously and was stopped for inspection. Police asked the driver to produce valid documents related to the consignment. However, the driver, Salman Shakoor Attar (32), a resident of Ward No. 2, Bit Market, Shrirampur, Ahilyanagar district, failed to furnish the required papers. Subsequently, around 10 tonnes of scrap material worth Rs 1.90 lakh and the truck valued at Rs 10 lakh were seized, taking the total value of the confiscated property to Rs 11.90 lakh.
