Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar

Police have intensified security around Aurangzeb’s tomb after Hindutva groups issued threats to uproot it. Authorities blocked the main access road and deployed additional forces on Saturday, keeping a close watch on movement in the area.

Special IG of Police Virendra Mishra and SP Dr Vinay kumar Rathod visited the site earlier this week to assess the situation and implement precautionary measures. The Archaeological Survey of India (ASI), which manages the tomb, has also deployed its personnel to assist in security arrangements. The heightened police presence coincides with a large influx of devotees visiting the nearby Bhadra Maruti Temple. The sudden security boost has left residents perplexed, though officials maintain that no untoward incident has been reported.
