Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar: “James Mill wrote the history of India as colonialism. He presented the history of Hinduism, Buddhism, Jainism, and Islam in the country. So, even though the British were Christians, they did not call themselves Christian but British and sowed seeds of religion by writing a history of the country’s religions,” said Dr Arvind Ganachari, a research scholar.

He was speaking at the inaugural ceremony of the three-day international conference on ‘New Trends in Indian Historiography: Narrative and Discussion,’ organised by the Department of History and Ancient Indian Culture and Mahatma Phule-Ambedkar Ideology Department and Research Center of Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University (Bamu) jointly on Wednesday.

Pro-vice chancellor (VC) Dr Walmik Sarwade was the chief guest.

Head of the Department Dr Gitnajali Borade, Dr Satish Dandge (director, Mahatma Phule- Ambedkar Thoughs Department and Research Center),

Dr Bina Sengar, Dr Sanjay Paikrao, and others were the prominent present in this conference.

Meanwhile, a total of 150 scholars, including 15 international presented research papers virutally.
