Claiming to be AIMIM public representatives sent by the Leader of the Opposition, self-proclaimed corporators allegedly intimidated officials in municipal departments and a civic hospital. A second case within 24 hours has been registered at Cidco police station against Asrar Ahmed, Imran Salar and three associates.
Videos of alleged high-handed behaviour by AIMIM-linked corporators in ward offices have gone viral. Though Asrar Ahmed’s name was reportedly only recommended for a nominated corporator post, he allegedly began pressuring civic officials and doctors. On April 9 around 11 am, Asrar visited the Swatantryaveer Vinayak Damodar Savarkar Municipal Hospital at N-8, questioned doctors and nurses about vaccine and medicine stocks, demanded records and claimed to represent AIMIM and the Opposition leader. Despite polite responses, the accused allegedly continued intimidation.

Entered hospital rooms, took documents
They allegedly entered hospital rooms, opened cupboards, conducted arbitrary inspections and took away staff lists, medicine and patient records, medical supplies data, maternity cards and survey reports. Staff were allegedly forced to pose for photographs while an associate filmed the episode. After the matter reached Dr Paras Mandalecha and the municipal commissioner, action followed. The same accused had allegedly created a similar ruckus at Meltron, leading to the first case at MIDC Cidco police station around midnight on Friday. The disturbances at two hospitals on consecutive days reportedly delayed treatment, leaving several patients, including children, waiting, with some returning home without care. Civic officials and staff have expressed distress over the incidents.
