Senior doctors honoured by IMA with lifetime achievement awards

Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar:

The Indian Medical Association (IMA), Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar branch, on Sunday evening honoured senior doctors for their long-standing and remarkable contributions to the medical field. Former dean of Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) and gynaecologist Dr Kanan Yelikar, paediatrician Dr Datta Kadam, and Dr S. A. Sami were conferred with Lifetime Achievement Awards.

At a ceremony held at the IMA Hall in Samarthnagar, the awards were presented by dean of GMCH, Dr Shivaji Sukre who attended as the chief guest. Dr Yelikar (2024–25), Dr Kadam (2025–26), and Dr Sami (2025–26) received the honours. IMA president Dr Anupam Takalkar, secretary Dr Yogesh Lakkas, former president Dr Yashwant Gade, and Dr Santosh Ranjalkar were present on the dais.

Former IMA president Dr P. M. Darkh, Dr Shaikh Murtuza, Dr Yashwant Gade, Dr Santosh Ranjalkar, Dr Subhash Shroff, and Dr Kuldeep Singh Raul were also felicitated during the event, along with students who excelled in medical education. Among those present were Dr Asawaree Takalkar , Dr Anjali Gade, Dr Aditya Yelikar, and Dr Kailas Zhine, among others.
