Senior social worker Rameshanna Mule was granted conditional anticipatory bail by the Special Court at Mehkar on March 31 in an Atrocity case registered at Lonar police station. The court observed that, prima facie, there was no material indicating that Mule used caste-based abusive language with intent to publicly humiliate the complainant. Earlier, Mule had filed a cheating complaint against his nephew Sanjay Mule at Mukundwadi police station. Amid this dispute, a woman from Udanapur (tehsil Lonar, District Buldhana) attempted to mediate, which Mule declined. On March 12, when Mule visited his native village to meet his mother, the woman allegedly came to his house, leading to an argument. Mule lodged a complaint against her at Lonar police station. Later, around 1 am, she filed an FIR against him under the Atrocities Act and for alleged outraging of modesty. The probe is being conducted by the Deputy Superintendent of Police, Mehkar. Mule sought anticipatory bail through Advocate S.B. Taur. The defence submitted a video clip, claiming it did not support allegations of molestation or caste abuse, and cited the Keshav Mahato case. The prosecution opposed the plea; however, after hearing both sides, the court granted conditional anticipatory bail.
