The city's annual 'Shakespeare Festival', marking World Book Day and Shakespeare's birth anniversary, enters its tenth edition this year. Organised jointly by Jeevan Vikas Granthalaya and Sahitya Sangeet Kala Manch, the two-day event will be held at Granthamitra Bha. Ba. Arvikar Sabhagruha, Tilaknagar.

On Saturday, April 25 (6.30 pm), author Raju Baviskar and poet Dasu Vaidya will discuss the Sahitya Akademi Award-winning Kalya Nilya Rekha, followed by Amod Jande's reading performance Striyanche Gilalelele Shabd (Women's swallowed words through a man's eyes). Sunday will feature a reading from Parshuram Deshpande's biographical novel on Shakespeare, with the festival concluding with a programme of popular Marathi songs by legendary singer late Asha Bhosle.
