Aurangabad, Jan 14:

Maha Vikas Aghadi, which is in power in Maharashtra, comprises Shiv Sena, NCP and Congress. However, Sena is said to be implementing its agenda, for gaining political mileage in the forthcoming Aurangabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) election, by maintaining distance with its allies in power - Congress and NCP.

The inauguration of eight various development works in the city will be held at the hands of the environment minister Aditya Thackeray and the guardian minister Subhash Desai on Jan 16. However, the NCP leader MP Supriya Sule is also in the city on that day, but she has been not invited. Besides, not a single minister of Congress party has also been invited to grace the above functions.

There is a discussion in the political circle that Sena is desirous of contesting the AMC election as a single largest party. It is why it is maintaining distance with the ministers of Congress, NCP and the local leaders.

MLC Ambadas Danve, at a press conference, apprised about the works to be inaugurated and dedicated to the public on Saturday. The young Thackeray will also be interacting with dignitaries of various sectors on the same day in a local hotel at 6 pm.

In reply to a question why NCP and Congress leaders and ministers are not invited for these programmes, Danve replied that the AMC is inviting the ministers. He avoided speaking further on the issue.

Sena should take care of it: Congress

The district president of Congress and former MLA, Kalyan Kale said," The AMC administrator should have invited leaders of all three parties which are part of Maha Vikas Aghadi. The deputy chief minister Ajit Pawar and revenue minister Balasaheb Thorat should also be invited. If AMC is avoiding, then it was expected from Shiv Sena leaders to take care of all the three parties."
