Revenue authorities raided illegal sand stockpiles from the Purna and Anjana riverbeds in Silod tehsil on Tuesday and Wednesday, seizing 1,000 brass units of sand worth Rs 2.83 crore. Notices have been issued to 14 farmers, with encumbrances to be placed on their land if fines remain unpaid, said tehsildar Sanjay Devaraye.

Illegal stockpiles were found across Kerhala, Borgaonwadi, Khodkaivadi, and Pimpalgaonpeth, recovered over 14 sites in a two-day operation led by Tehsildar Devaraye and Mandal Officer K.B. Tathe.

Action against illegal brick kilns: An unlicensed kiln in Pimpalgaonpeth was also raided; seized bricks are now under village revenue custody, and fines will be imposed on the operator.

Seized sand details:

• Kerhala: Gut 438 (4 brass, Rs 1.31 lakh), Gut 115 (90 brass, Rs 27.63 lakh), Gut 549 (6 brass, Rs 1.92 lakh), Gut 558 (2 brass, Rs 70,200)

• Borgaonwadi: Gut 390 (50 brass, Rs 15.39 lakh)

• Khodkaivadi: Gut 190 (90 brass, ₹27.63 lakh), Gut 208 (10 brass, Rs 3.15 lakh; Gut 1 brass, Rs 1.62 lakh; Gut 15 brass, Rs 4.68 lakh)

• Pimpalgaonpeth: Gut 113 (110 brass, Rs 33.75 lakh; Gut 300 brass, Rs 91.89 lakh), Gut 161 (150 brass, Rs 45.99 lakh), Gut 169 (40 brass, Rs 12.33 lakh), Gut 114 (50 brass, Rs 15.39 lakh)

Total: 1,000 brass, Rs 2.83 crore
