Slow progress of Jal Jeevan Mission irks villagers

Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar:

A water supply scheme was approved under the Jal Jeevan Mission to permanently relieve the Ladsawangi village from the water scarcity problem. However, even after the deadline has passed and nearly nine months have passed, water from the scheme has not reached the village. There is no hope for water to arrive even in this summer.

For Ladsawangi, the then MLA Haribhau Bagde and former union minister Raosaheb Danve got sanctioned Rs 9 crore for the project through the Central and State Governments under the Mission. The foundation stone for this project was laid on April 20 2023. The work order for the project was issued on February 7 2023, with a deadline of 18 months to complete the project from that date. A 15-kilometer pipeline from the Somthana (Tehsil Badnapur) project has been approved. However, the work is still incomplete. When contacted regarding this matter, the Mission’s project engineer did not respond to the call.
