Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar:

In a case involving the alleged misappropriation of Rs 2.07 crore from the sale of land at Bhendala Shivar in Gangapur, the court has rejected the anticipatory bail application of the son accused of cheating his elderly father. Additional district and sessions court judge S. B. Bahalkar delivered the order on February 16 after hearing arguments from both sides.

The 82-year-old farmer, Abdul Ganikhan Pathan from Bhendala, had sold his land from Gut No. 214 (Class 2). It is alleged that his son, Musa Khan, along with daughter-in-law Parveen Musa Khan, misappropriated the entire Rs 2.07 crore received from the transaction, thereby betraying his trust. Based on Pathan’s complaint, a case was registered at Gangapur police station on January 23. Since the registration of the offence, the accused couple has been absconding.

To avoid arrest, the accused had filed an anticipatory bail application before the additional district and sessions court at Gangapur. However, considering the seriousness of the alleged fraud and breach of trust involving an elderly father, the court rejected the bail plea.

Following the court’s decision, Gangapur police have initiated swift efforts to trace and arrest the accused.
