Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar:

Taking into account the surge in summer travel, Central Railway has decided to introduce a weekly special train between Mumbai (CSMT) and Hyderabad. However, the seat allocation in this train has led to dissatisfaction among passengers from the Marathwada region. With a limited quota assigned to Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar and Nanded, and a significantly larger share reserved for Hyderabad, passengers have expressed a sense of injustice.

Considering the increased passenger traffic during the summer holidays, the railway administration has announced several special trains. Among them is the weekly special train between Mumbai (CSMT) and Hyderabad. However, the distribution of seat quotas in this train has now become a point of contention.

Who gets how many seats?

In this special train, only 184 seats have been allotted to Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, while Nanded has been given a quota of 156 seats. In contrast, Hyderabad has been allocated as many as 669 seats. This makes it clear that passengers from the Marathwada region will not receive seats in proportion to demand.

When will the train run?

The Mumbai (CSMT)–Hyderabad special train will operate from April 23 to July 9. The train (01011) travelling from Mumbai to Hyderabad will arrive at Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar station at 7:40 am on Thursdays and depart at 7:45 am. The return train (01012) from Hyderabad to Mumbai will arrive here every Friday at 10:10 am and leave for Mumbai at 10:15 am.

“Unfair treatment by Railways”

In the Mumbai–Hyderabad special train, separate quotas have been created for Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar and Nanded, while additional quota has been given to Hyderabad. As a result, passengers from Marathwada will get limited seats. This is unjust.
