A speeding two-wheeler rider fatally hit a woman returning home, leaving her with severe head injuries. The incident occurred recently around 9.30 pm in Vadgaon Kolhati, near Siddhivinayak Ganesh Temple. The biker fled the scene, and police have launched a search for the accused.

The deseaced victim, identified as Anjana Kailas Patil (48, Gangotri Park, Vadgaon Kolhati). Her husband, Kailas Patil (54), filed a complaint with the Waluj MIDC Police on February 25. Police registered a case against the unidentified biker and assigned PSI Sandeep Kale to investigate. On the night of the accident, Anjana Patil visited the Swami Samarth Temple and later stopped by her husband's shop before heading home. Kailas Patil, who runs a soda distribution business, returned home around 10.30 pm and found his wife missing. Concerned, he rode back towards his shop, only to learn about the accident. Witnesses informed him that she had sustained head injuries and was taken to GMCH in an auto-rickshaw. Kailas and his son, Shubham, rushed to the hospital, where doctors attempted to stabilize her condition. Due to the severity of the injuries, she was transferred to a private hospital for surgery. Despite medical efforts, she succumbed to her injuries on February 20 at 10 pm. The police are scanning CCTV footage and questioning locals to track down the accused biker. Authorities urge eyewitnesses to come forward with any information that could help in the investigation.
