An MSRTC sleeper coach (MH 09 FL 0468) from Raver depot, operating on the Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar–Raver route, met with an accident around 3.30 am on Sunday near Adnadi on the Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar–Jalgaon National Highway. The driver swerved to avoid an oncoming school bus, causing the vehicle to climb onto the divider.
The impact jammed the main door, but local residents rescued all 22 passengers through the emergency rear exit. A few sustained minor injuries. Conductor Aslam Tadvi alerted police (112) and ambulance services (108). The injured were treated at the Rural Hospital in Phulambri and later sent to their destinations by another MSRTC bus. Mechanical engineer Swapnil Dhanad, depot manager Sangita Suryavanshi, station in-charge Santosh Najan, traffic controller Kailas Dutonde and Kamalakar Patwardhan reached the spot to assist. The driver’s prompt action averted casualties. Traffic was briefly disrupted but restored by police.
