Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar:

As part of the concept “Shivaray in every heart; Shiv Jayanti in every home”, 151 small statues (memorial idols) of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj along with saffron flags were distributed among devotees during a programme organised by Dharmaveer Chhava Sanghatana at the office of the District Marathi Journalists’ Association on Tuesday.

Shivcharitra scholar Dr Balaji Jadhav, entrepreneur Sadashiv Jadhav, adv. Sadanand Sonawane, district bar association secretary adv. Yogesh Tupe, adv. Sudhir Kulkarni, adv. Santosh Bodkhe and Deepak Laturkar were present as chief guests. Founder-president of the organisation Ganesh Ugle-Patil stated that Shiv Jayanti should be celebrated in every household. With the aim of instilling the ideals of Shivaji Maharaj in every individual’s mind, the organisation decided to distribute statues of Shivaji Maharaj to 151 families.

Dr Balaji Jadhav added that the organisation had recently distributed sewing machines to needy single women, inspiring them to become self-reliant. He remarked that where the images of great leaders are present, their character and ideals also reside. Adv. Sonawane and adv. Tupe also expressed their views on the occasion.
