Kannad city police have successfully recovered stolen goods worth Rs. 7.9 lakh after a high-speed chase and pursuit on the night of Friday.

At 11 pm , Kannad Rural Police were conducting a patrol on Friday night. During the patrol, they spotted an unregistered Bolero pickup vehicle crossing Makarampur Bridge. When they attempted to stop the vehicle, the driver ignored their orders and sped off towards Pishore. The suspect driver diverted the vehicle towards Karanjkhed, and police set up a blockade with a private vehicle. However, the suspects managed to escape under the cover of darkness. The abandoned vehicle was found to contain 69 batteries, 18 radiators, 15 starters, 2 switches, and 5 coil plates. Investigation revealed the stolen items belonged to Harun Mahetab Sheikh, a battery shop owner in Makarampur. The stolen goods were returned to the original owners at the Kannad city police station. Police superintendent Dr Vinay kumar Rathod and Add. SP Annapurna Singh supervised the operation, which involved several police officers from both city and rural stations.
