Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar: Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University is developing a digital system that will issue degrees to students after direct verification.
Vice-Chancellor Dr Vijay Fulari provided this information in response to a resolution presented at the recent Senate meeting. He also clarified that on-screen evaluation of all answer sheets would commence within the next two years.
Member Dr Satish Gavit had put forward a proposal regarding the introduction of on-screen evaluation of answer sheets in the Senate meeting and the technical modernisation of the examination department.
Responding to this, Vice-Chancellor Dr Vijay Fulari stated that a new digital system is being developed to make the verification of students' documents easier and more transparent. This system will incorporate Aadhaar number, barcoding, photographs, and retina scans.
He noted that this will curb fake certificates and speed up the verification process for employment and higher education. The VC said the university ranks first in the State among universities that declare the maximum number of results within 45 days.
He also underlined the responsibility of teachers, drawing attention to the fact that some teachers do not report on time for paper evaluation.
