Aurangabad, May 5:

The Directorate of Primary, secondary and higher secondary education has entitled district education officer to reduce long summer and Diwali vacations of schools and give it to Ganesh Utsav or Christmas festivals.

It may be noted that the education department announced summer vacations for all schools from May 1. The vacation will end on June 14 and schools will reopen for the new academic year on June 15, depending upon the COVID situation.

All the schools up to 11th standard were closed most of the days during the academic year 2020-21 due to pandemic spread. Even their examinations were cancelled.

The total number of vacations in the academic year should not exceed 76 days as per the norms.

The district education officer was given the authority to reduce the summer and Diwali vacations from schools and give it to other festivals.
