Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar

The city is witnessing an unusual weather pattern this April. While temperatures have surged since the beginning of the month, sudden evening showers have created a contrasting monsoon-like feel. Residents are experiencing two different seasons in a single day, making the erratic climate a major talking point.

Over the past few days, the mercury has risen sharply. The sun beats down intensely from morning, and stepping outdoors in the afternoon has become difficult due to the heat. However, by evening, dark clouds gather unexpectedly, followed by gusty winds and rain showers. Citizens now find themselves carrying both water bottles and umbrellas during peak summer.

Social media coins a new term

The unusual weather has sparked a wave of memes and humorous posts online. Netizens have dubbed this mixed season ‘Unsaala’ — a blend of summer and monsoon.

Posts jokingly describe the city’s new “schedule” as:

Morning – Summer

Afternoon – Peak summer

Evening – Direct monsoon

Residents are enjoying the novelty but are also advised to stay prepared for sudden changes in weather conditions.
