Aurangabad, April 29:
The Cantonment police have arrested a suspect in the firing incident on a hotel in Mitmitta area occurred on March 30. The arrested has been identified as Rahul Sukhdeo Gaikwad (21, Kokhdi, Kopargaon, Ahmednagar). The main suspect Vishal Manohar Gadilkar is still at large and the police have lodged a severe manhunt for him.
Complainant Manish Kisan Gaikwad owns a hotel ‘Manish’ at Mitmitta. His marriage was arranged from a girl from Ahmednagar. The bride-to-be had earlier refused the marriage proposal of the main suspect Vishal, who is a relative of Manish. He tried that Manish and his family members should cancel this marriage, but he could not succeed. Hence, on March 30, Vishal and his accomplice came on a motorcycle in midnight and fired two rounds on Hotel Manish. A case was registered at the Cantonment police station. During the investigation, the police found that Rahul Gaikwad was with Vishal during this incident. Rahul is a criminal on the police record and was arrested by the Ahmednagar police in a ransom case. The Cantonment police received the information that he has been remanded in the judicial custody. The police then took him into custody with the permission of the Parner court from the prison, informed API Manish Hiwrale.
