Vedantnagar police registered a second FIR against the newly elected corporator Abhijit Jeevanwal at late Saturday niglt. The first FIR involved pushing and grabbing government officials.
A Shinde faction candidate sparked controversy by standing on a vehicle and waving a sword in the air during a victory rally outside the home of defeated BJP candidate. The incident was captured on video and went viral, drawing strong reactions on social media. From Prabhag 18, Shinde Sena candidates Harshada Shirsat, Raju Rajput, and Abhijit Jeevanwal celebrated their victories with a rally that drew hundreds of supporters. The rally passed through the area of defeated BJP candidate Sanjay Barwal. As the vehicle went past Barwal’s house, the victorious candidate reportedly drew a sword from its sheath and waved it while standing on the vehicle. Police inspector Praveena Yadav confirmed that an FIR was filed at Vedantnagar police station on government complaint. The incident reportedly caused fear among the Barwal family. “Jeevanwal created chaos in front of our house for two hours. Waving a sword, creating a scene at the doorstep was unnecessary. There was even an attempt to assault our son,” said women from the Barwal family.
