Aurangabad, March 9: An anti corruption bureau (ACB) squad arrested a talathi red-handed while accepting Rs 3,000 in bribe from a farmer at Palam in Parbhani district of Marathwada on Tuesday.

The tainted talathi has been identified as Sachin Vishnu Sarode. According to an ACB statement, the farmer wanted to register 3 acres and 10 'Guntha' land in his wife’s name and submitted a file with all required documents to the talathi office. The complainant was asked to pay talathi Rs 6000 to clear his file and the amount was paid by the farmer. He was again asked to pay Rs 3,000 by Sarode on March 8 and the next day he was arrested by ACB officials after the farmer lodged a complaint.
