Teacher duped of Rs 2 lakh
Aurangabad, Nov 6:
The cyber criminals duped a teacher from the city of Rs 1,95,720 luring him of Rs 15,000 monthly rent and Rs 10 lakh advance for renting his space for an ATM Centre. The teacher was duped between the period November 25 to December, 2019. A case has been registered at the Satara police station in this regard.
Police said, complainant teacher, Vilas Ramrao Gaikwad (47, Nakshatrawadi), had applied online for Goggle India One ATM centre to be started on his space. He uploaded his aadharcard, pan card, land and light bill PDF documents along with the application. After a few days, he received a call from a person named Sharma. He told Gaikwad that his application had been sanctioned, and he will be getting Rs 15,000 monthly rent and Rs 10 lakh advance for space he will provide for the ATM centre. Later, he was asked to pay Rs 1,95,720 stating various reasons like traveling expenses, insurance, no-objection certificate, declaration and various other reasons. After receiving the amount from Gaikwad, the person switched off his phone. When he realized that he has been taken for a ride, Gaikwad lodged a complaint at the Satara police station.
