Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar: Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University College Teachers Association (BAMUCTA) demanded an increase in the honorarium of college teachers working on a Clock Hour Basis (CHB).

In a memorandum submitted to the Joint Director (Higher Education, Chhatrapait Sambhajinagar division) Dr Pankaja Waghmare, demanding that this disparity be resolved. There is a disparity in the honorarium paid to CHB college teachers under the Higher Education Department across different divisions of the State.

A delegation led by Dr Rajesh Karpe submitted the memorandum stating that CHB teachers in aided colleges of West Maharashtra and Pune divisions are paid a monthly salary and are allowed to teach 36 hours monthly.

In contrast, CHB college teachers in the CSN division are sanctioned only 30 hours per month and don’t get honorarium on time. “This practice is contrary to the principle of equal pay for equal work” it was mentioned in the memorandum.
