Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar: The Education Department has decided to merge additional teachers in Zilla Parishad (ZP) schools before intra-district transfers and promotions. Various teacher organisations have started opposing this decision. The ZP administration and teachers may come face to face.

There is now a demand that the additional teachers should be merged only through transfers and promotions within the district. The teachers of the district are looking eagerly towards the stand of the Primary Education Department in this regard.

The ZP has ordered the merger of additional teachers at the tehsil level on March 5. This merger will be made as per the 2023-24 staffing pattern.

If the merger is to be made as per the number of teachers this year, then new teachers were posted in the previous year.

Rajesh Hiwale, the district president of the Maharashtra State Primary Teachers' Association raised a question as to what basis staff pattern they were given appointment. The teachers' unions and the ZP administration may come face to face over these demands.

Jayashree Chavan (Education Officer, Primary Department) said that additional teachers in ZP schools are being merged.
