Aurangabad, May 19:

An additional team of a company from Rajkot has arrived in the city on Tuesday to repair, maintain and upgrade the ventilators provided to the district under PMCare Fund. This four-member team visited the Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) and private hospitals in this regard.

It may be noted that the GMCH had received 150 ventilators, out of which, 41 were supplied to five private hospitals.

They were given some 22 days ago, but the functioning of ventilators had not been started by them in their hospitals, so far. In fact, they had started the process to return the ventilators to the administration.

It is learnt that the team of engineers had installed 10 ventilators provided to one hospital on May 10. The ventilators are being monitored and their real condition will be revealed in a couple of days, said the hospital sources. According to an official of another hospital, " we had kept these ventilators as a standby. They had not been used. The decision to return them would be taken in a couple of days."

BJP leaders visit GMCH

BJP leaders today visited the GMCH and obtained the details about the ventilators provided to them. They also obtained details about the conditions of ventilators provided to private hospitals. An expert from one hospital told them that the ventilators are working in appropriate condition, it is learnt.
