“Don’t forget values during the materialistic prosperity. While leading a value-based life, education should be integrated with technology and research. All should make efforts for turning life comfortable in rural areas along with industrial development. So that, those who migrated to Pune and Mumbai for jobs would return to their native place,” said Nitin Gadkari, union Minister for Road Transport and Highways, Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises.
He was speaking after inaugurating Technical Excellence Centre (TEC) and Laboratory online at MGM University on Sunday. MGM University, MSC Software Corporation (America) and SSIG Manufacturing Advancements Pvt Ltd (Pune) have established the centre jointly as part of the celebration of 38th anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi Mission Trust. This is the first such centre in any university in the country.
MGM Trust Chairman Kamalkishor Kadam, vice-president Dr P M Jadhav, Principal Prataprao Borade, Sudhir Kadam, Nitin Kadam, vice-chancellor Dr Sudhir Gavhane, Sridhar Dharmarajan (Executive V-P, Hexagon Manufacturing Intelligence Division and MD, MSC-Indo Pacific), Industrialist Umesh Dashrathi, Rajendra Abhange, Geeta Latkar, Sudarshan Latkar, Principal Harirang Shinde and Dr Pravin Suryavanshi were present for the event at Rukhmini auditorium of MGM Campus.
Nitin Gadkari said that there are immense opportunities in ethanol and electric vehicles sectors.
“Village industry will proposer if it is connected with modernisation. Pune and Aurangabad are the future of the automobile industry. Scrapping policy which is proposed will help in reducing prices of vehicles in the automobile industry. Government is making all efforts to enhance the use of bio-diesel, bio-CNG to increase export and reduce import,” he said. The minister also said that a technology centre would be allotted to the MGM campus under MSME Ministry for rural development.
Kamalkishor Kadam expressed concerns over the current global crisis. Umesh Dashrathi said that skilled manpower requirement would increase with reducing the space of energy storing device in electric vehicles. Abhange spoke on changes being done in electric vehicles across the world. Dharmarajan shed light on the future of the Indian economy. Sarfaraz Quadri and Deepa Deshpande conducted the proceedings.
