A 17-year-old girl died after allegedly slipping into a well while fetching water for cucumber plants in her family’s field at Banwadi Tanda on Friday morning.

The deceased has been identified as Komal Durgadas Chavan. According to police, the incident came to light around 11 am when she failed to return home. Her family began searching and found only the water pot she had carried lying near the well. On looking inside, they spotted her in the water. The fire brigade retrieved her and rushed her to government medical college and hospital, where doctors declared her dead.
