Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar

The abrupt 15-day leave of rural tehsildar Ramesh Mundlod continues to fuel speculation, especially in the wake of the state’s intensified crackdown on illegal sand mining. His leave was sanctioned just a day after Revenue Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule directed strict action against those allegedly colluding with sand mafias, including officials from the revenue and police departments.

Following this, District Collector Dilip Swami held a meeting on Wednesday with Sub-Divisional Officers and Tehsildars, issuing strict warnings. Soon after, Mundlod proceeded on leave. He will be on leave until February 28, with his responsibilities temporarily assigned to Tehsildar Shivanand Bidwe of the Sanjay Gandhi Niradhar Yojana.
