Even though the city and surrounding areas experienced cloudy weather on Monday, the maximum temperature remained high at 41.5°C. The minimum temperature was recorded at 25.4°C.

Last week, the temperature had dropped slightly for two days, but the heat continued to persist. The India Meteorological Department has issued a warning of unseasonal rains in the district till April 23, causing fluctuations in temperature. Out of the last eight days, the maximum temperature crossed 41°C in six days.

Light rain accompanied by strong winds occurred in the city and surrounding areas after midnight on April 19. However, on April 20, intense sunshine made the heat feel severe.
