Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar

A tempo carrying devotees to fulfill a vow at Mhaismal met with an accident on the Daulatabad-Khulatabad route at Daulatabad Ghat on Saturday evening (31 Jan). Police said the accident occurred when the driver lost control on a bend, leaving 12 passengers injured, including six children. The injured belong to the More family and their relatives from Turkabad-Kharadi in Gangapur tehsil.

The More family, along with relatives, was traveling in a tempo (MH-14-AH-2391) to Mhaisamala for a religious vow. The vehicle overturned on a bend at Daulatabad Ghat, injuring all twelve passengers. On receiving the information, Daulatabad police police sub inspector Sandeep Wagh, constables Sahebrao Rathod, Rausahib Thillare, Rajesh Patil, and Ahire helped locals transport the injured via Jagadgu Narendra Maharaj Sansthan ambulance to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH). Traffic on the route, temporarily disrupted by the accident, was restored by police.
