A reckless incident on the road led to a fatal accident when an auto-rickshaw collided with a stationary tempo, resulting in the deaths of the driver and a woman. On February 3, around 1.30 am, near the railway overbridge, a case was registered against the pickup van driver at Chhawani police station. However, police said that even after two days, no arrest has been made.

42-year-old Rukmini Yenge (Ranjangaon) had visited Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) on February 3 along with two young women, after experiencing chest pain and deteriorating health. Around 1 am, they left the hospital to return home in an auto driven by Rais Habib (34, Garkheda). After crossing the Chhawani railway bridge, the tempo carrying sugarcane straw had a tire puncture. In the early hours of 3.30 am, the auto collided with the tempo, resulting in chaos, screams, and tragedy on the road. Rukmini and Rais died on the spot, while the two young women were seriously injured. A case was registered against the tempo driver following a complaint by Rais’s brother, Shaikh Anis.
