A tragic accident claimed the life of a tempo driver when his banana-laden vehicle overturned near Andhaner Square, Kannad on the Dhule-Solapur highway.
The incident occurred on Monday at 4.30 pm, killing Wajid Sayyed (40, Kini, tehsil Soygaon). Wajid was transporting a tempo (MH-04-FP-7063) to Vaijapur when he lost control of the vehicle, causing it to overturn. The impact left him with critical injuries. Kannad City Police officers head constable Sanjay Atole along with constables Dinesh Khedkar and Pravin Barde rushed to the scene upon receiving the alert. They immediately transported Wajid to Kannad rural hospital, where doctors pronounced him dead. A case of accidental death has been registered at Kannad City Police Station. Wajid is survived by his parents, wife, and two children.
