Aurangabad, June 12:

The Mukundwadi police nabbed the accused and his minor girlfriend in the of the accused in the case of stealing 16 tolas gold jewellery from the house of a retired person at Sadashivnagar in N-2, Cidco area on Saturday within 24 hours of the incident. The police have seized all the jewellery from the accused.

The accused Babya alias Sonu Mohan Bhagure (23, Rajnagar) and his minor girlfriend stole around 16 jewellery from the house of a retired employee Ramesh Kondu Tayade in Cidco N-2 area on Friday afternoon. On the complaint received at the Mukundwadi police station, under the guidance of PI Sharad Ingle, the crime branch PSI Amol Mhaske, constable Babasaheb Kamble, Shailendra Adiyal, Santosh Bhanuse, Kailas Kakad, Sudhakar Patil, Ambika Darunte and others went to the spot and investigated. In an CCTV camera in this area, a girl was seen taking a small bag. The face of the girl was not seen clearly but the police started searching her on the basis of the colour of her dress. Her photo was circulated everywhere. The police received the information that the girl and the auto-rickshaw driver Sonu Bhagure were seen traveling in an auto-rickshaw for the whole day.

On Saturday morning, the police received the information that a girl with the same description was going from Chikalthana towards Mukundwadi in an auto-rickshaw. The police arrested the girl along with another passenger with her near Ramnagar. During investigation, she confessed that she stole the jewellery from the house and kept it with her friend Sonu alias Babya. The police then arrested Babya and seized the jewellery from.

The girl is six months pregnant and admitted to the Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) for conducting the medical test, the sources said.
